Vaccines Still Believed to Cause Autism?

On Monday morning, Andrew Wakefield appeared on The Today Show with Matt Lauer to discuss his recent board certification retraction.  Why?  Wakefield is one of only a few vigilant supporters of the theory on vaccinations causing autism in young children.  Many decades ago, various vaccines were suspected of inducing autism in the young children who received them.  Many vaccines were studied closely, and ultimately, they were found to be safe.  Many of those vaccines are still administered to children today.  To learn more about the history of these vaccines, click here.

But now Wakefield is revisiting this point of controversy.  For some time, Wakefield had been vocalizing his opposition to the vaccines, and in theory he has America's best interest in mind.  But what about all of the children who have been helped by those vaccines?  Many are questioning the effectiveness of eliminating the suspected vaccines entirely.

With so many questions looming in the air, Wakefield was able to cite multiple studies that support the possibility of vaccines inducing autistic traits and behavior in young children.  Additionally, Wakefield pointed out that preventive vaccines often come with unforeseen consequences.  Many foundations and funds have been established to help those who have suffered after receiving a vaccination with negative health consequences.  Yet, many researchers still remain skeptical of the previously discounted link between vaccines and autism.  For every study conducted that supported the link between vaccines and autism, there are hundreds more to disprove that connection.

The attorneys at Roswold Law Group are committed to helping child injury and accident victims.  Perhaps your child was not a victim of vaccine-induced autism, but many children are victimized by unsafe vaccines or improper administration of vaccines to children.  If you or a loved one has been affected by a situation like this one, we urge you to contact our Kansas City-based attorneys.  We want to see child injury and accident victims receive the justice and compensation they deserve.
