Building tents and forts are a staple of nearly every childhood. I have to be honest though, they never had cool tents like this when we were little. Then again, based on the latest product recall, maybe we were better off using cardboard boxes and sheets to build our forts when we were kids.
The U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission in joint task with Target stores have issued a dangerous product recall on 1,500 Circo Children's Space Camp Combo packs have been recalled because the floor of the tent poses a flame hazard.
In an official statement, the CPSC explains the dangerous product recall:
“The recall involves one model of the Circo Space Combo pack, which includes a children’s tent, sleeping bag, backpack and a headlamp. The tent is green and dark blue with planets, stars and figures printed on it. The packing box has the UPC number: 490911500926, DPCI: 091-15-0092. The product was sold exclusively at Target stores nationwide and online at www.target.com.”
If you or someone you know purchased one of these child's tens between September 2010 through October 2010 , contact the manufacturer immediately.
As Kansas and Missouri Defective Product and Product Liability Lawyers, we encourage you to take this as well as all product recalls seriously. Most of the time you will get a replacement free of charge and in the least, you just may be asked to discontinue using the product. The products are often recalled because there is a threat of very serious injury if the problem is not addressed immediately. Think of your child's safety, not the inconvenience.
For further information concerning the recall, consumers can contact Target at (800) 440-0680 between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. CT Monday through Friday, or visit their website at www.target.com.
