The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) along with Whole Foods company have recalled several cheese products in the Sally Jackson Food line. According to the recall, the infected products were sold in California, Washington State, Nevada and Washington D.C. and were recalled because the products may contain Escherichia coli 0157:H7 bacteria.
If you are in one of the states where this recall is in affect you can contact your local store for a full refund of the product. Right now it doesn't appear as if this affects Kansas and Missouri, but if you are planning to shop at Whole Foods stores for your holiday party needs, you might want to inquire about how this dangerous recall affects the products sold at your local store. Often times a recall happens in a limited range and is widened if the threat is larger than presumed. The packages of cheese involved in this recall will either have a Whole Foods label or Sally Jackson Foods label.
The Sally Jackson products involved in the recall include: cow's milk cheese, goat's milk cheese, sheep's milk cheese, cow's milk cheese wrapped in chestnut leaves, sheep's milk cheese wrapped in chestnut leaves and goat's milk cheese wrapped in grape leaves.
