Wrongful Death/Medical Malpractice: Medication Error Leading to the Death of Infants

Our client gave birth to twins who were born very prematurely and were hospitalized in the neonatal intensive care unit of a local hospital. Medication orders for both children were improperly filled in the hospital's pharmacy such that the children were given solutions that were many times stronger than ordered. This led to the death of both infants.

Investigation revealed that multiple safeguards that were purportedly in place to prevent such an occurrence had failed or had been ignored.

The matter was litigated with the client ultimately receiving a substantial structured settlement for the death of her children.
