Does an accident report have to be filed after a Kansas City slip and fall accident?

It is always a good idea for an accident report to be completed at the time of an injury-producing accident. However, filling out an accident report is not always possible.  If you were seriously injured, you may have been more concerned with getting medical care.
 
An accident report is not mandated by law.  It is just a good way to make sure the details of an accident are written down.  An accident report should specify what happened, the condition that caused the fall, list witnesses and any other important information, including lighting conditions.
 
Witnesses can help provide this information.  If there are no witnesses, you may want to write a record of what happened for yourself. Include as much information as possible including the circumstances of the fall, who was present, and any comments made by anyone who saw or helped you after the fall. If you can, include photos.
