What are the costs associated with preparing and/or filing a claim and who pays those?

A: Costs associated with filing a claim will vary by whether your case can be resolved without filing suit or not.  Costs are lower if your case resolves without having to delve into the litigation process.  In all cases, you will generally have fees for obtaining police reports, medical records and medical bills.  If suit has to be filed, then discovery will take place to prepare for litigation.  Costs associated with preparing for litigation may include deposition fees, mediation fees, expert witness fees, and independent medical examinations.  You should consult with an attorney regarding costs associated with preparing and/or filing a claim.

You will be responsible for the costs associated with pursuing your claim.  However, because we work on a contingency basis, you will not be responsible for any costs upfront.  The costs are taken out of the recovery.
