11. Get your four-wheel drive system checked. Many drivers don’t use 4WD during the summer months; make sure it is working properly before you need it.
12. Check your tire pressure. Tire pressure often drops when the weather cools and the air inside the tires contracts, and low tire pressure can cause you to slip on icy roads.
13. Consider snow tires. They provide a significant improvement in traction.
14. Prepare an emergency kit to store in your car.
