Local High School Students Help Spread the Word about the Dangers of Texting While Driving
Recently, Roswold Foundation for Injured Children and Kansas City Accident Injury Attorneys teamed up to sponsor a Teens Against Distracted Driving (TADD) campaign at several of the high schools in the KCMO School District.
Students of legal driving age in the junior and senior classes at Northeast, Central, Southwest, and East High Schools were asked to take a pledge to not text and drive. We got a great response to our campaign this year and would like to applaud all of those who took a stance against driving distracted and signed their commitment to not text while driving. We'd also like to extend our congratulations to Northeast High School, which had the highest percentage of students in the junior and senior classes taking the pledge; close to forty percent - way to go Vikings! Special congratulations should also go out to Ibrahim Sy who won the drawing for the iPod Nano! 
If you are reading this and are a member of the senior class at Northeast High School, be sure to thank classmates Trang Nguyen, Aida Silva, Angel Carmona, April De Leon, and Ta Ron Carson next time you see them in the hallway. Their "public service announcement" was chosen as the winner of our video contest, earning your class $250 for prom or another similar event.
