A 10 month-old girl was killed in an SUV rollover crash when whe was ejected from her car seat and thrown from the vehicle. The fatal automobile accident happened on June 28, 2011 in Raleigh, North Carolina. The North Carolina Highway Patrol says a 24 year-old driver lost control and over-corrected, causing her vehicle to rollover and hit a tree near a ditch on the side of the road.
The baby was thrown from the vehicle and killed instantly when the SUV landed on top of her. They NC Highway Patrol reported that the car seat wasn't properly secured in the backseat
The child's mother, identified as Heather Lucas was hospitalized but her injuries are not considered to be life threatening.
