11 month-old child thrown from car in Kansas City car accident

Three people, including two children, suffered serious injury in an auto accident near 39th street and Kensington in Kansas City, Missouri on Tuesday evening.  Police say the accident was caused when the driver lost control of the car, went off the road, hit a tree and flipped over before crashing in a parking lot.  The three injured passengers, one adult and two children were taken to a local hospital.  One of the kids, an 11 month-old child, was thrown from the vehicle but suffered only scrapes and road rash and is expected to be okay.
