A three year-old Kansas City boy was severely injured when he was hit by a car in front of his home on Tuesday March 15, 2011. The child hit-and-run injury accident happened on 43rd and Pittman around 5:00 p.m. when the boy was crossing the street after getting the mail. The boy is in the hospital now where he is in critical condition with life threatening injuries.
The boy was struck by a van, which apparently stopped and then fled the scene. The only witnesses to the Kansas City hit-and-run accident were two other children. The described the driver of the vehicle as an older white man. Police are searching for the driver of the suspected vehicle, a blue mini-van with wood paneling was seen by witnesses following the serious injury hit-and-run child accident.
