Bicyclist killed when struck by bus in San Francisco

An accident in San Francisco, CA. involving a San Francisco Municipal Railway bus led to the death of a bicyclist.  The San Francisco police department identified the victim as 22  year-old Derek Allen.  According to official reports, the accident happened on October 7, 2010 on Sixth Avenue between Geary Boulevard and Clement street around 5 p.m.  Officials believe Allen may have stepped out in front of the path of the bus, which was unable to stop or swerve to avoid contact.
