Kansas lawmakers are trying to keep up with the national push to limit distracted driving accidents. A bill has been proposed in Topeka that will allow law enforcement officials to hand out traffica violations as well as a $100 fine if you are caught texting while driving. The State transportation and AAA of Kansas have been proponents of the bill as part of a nationwide attempt to cut back on the number of injury accidents and fatal crashes. A similar bill was passed in Missouri in August of 2009, which makes it illegal to text and drive if under the age of 21.
The accident and injury attorneys of the Kansas City Accident Injury Attorneys hope that you practice safe driving techniques and avoid doing anything that might distract you from driving in order to keep the roads safe for everyone.
