Boy Dies in Crash - Mother Driving on a Suspended License

An 11-year-old boy was killed in a tragic accident Wednesday evening and two others were injured.  Tina Lane, was driving her children, an 11-year old boy and an 8-year old girl when she was stopped by police.  Officers were already involved on another traffic stop when the car driven by Lane nearly clipped their patrol car and was moving erratically .  Officers then pulled over Lane and asked for her drivers license.  During the stop the officers noted the two children in the vehicle.

When asked for I.D., Lane mumbled that she did not have a license and promptly put the car into drive and drove off, heading south on 71 Highway.  Officers began to follow Lane for a short distance, but then stopped their pursuit.  Lane lost control of her car and rear-ended a semi near Gregory and 71 Highway. 

Lane's son was killed in the accident and her daughter suffered minor injuries.  Lane herself was taken to an area hospital and is in critical condition.  The driver of the semi was not injured.
