Brain Injury Awareness Day on March 16 Part of Month Long Campaign to Bring Attention to Head Injuries

Victims of Traumatic Brain Injury know how difficult it is to live life after an accident.  This month is Brain Injury Awareness Month and the Brain Injury Association of America is raising awareness to the causes and effects of Traumatic Brain Injury.  On March 16, which has been designated as Brain Injury Awareness Day, a special event is being held on Capitol Hill in Washington DC including guest speakers and activities.

Many top minds in the field of neuro-science and brain injury will be on hand to host Q and A sessions and lectures, with the focus this year on rehabilitation following a severe head or brain injury.  The guest list includes General Peter W. Chiarelli, Army Vice Chief of Staff; Bobby Silverstein; of the Disability and Rehabilitation Research Coalition; Col. Jamie B. Grime, Director, Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center and Kathy Helmick, Deputy Director, Defense Centers of Excellence for Psychological Health and Traumatic Brain Injury.
