Carnival Workers in Kansas and Missouri are at Risk of Severe Injuries

A 40 year-old carnival worker was killed in a work-related accident during preparation for the 50th annual Lamoille County Field Days in Lamoille County, Vermont. The fatal work-related accident took happened on July 19, 2011 when the the man became caught up in the draft of a large diesel generator fan and was pulled in.

The worker has been identified as Leonardo Espinabarro Telles of Vera Cruz, Mexico. The worker was in the United States on a work visa and was working as an employee of Castlerock Amusements.

Telles suffered massive trauma to his torso and was rushed to a nearby hospital. He passed away before they arrived.

While the death has been ruled an accident, the Vermont State Police and the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) will investigate to determine the cause of the fatal work-related accident.
