CPSC and Dutailier Group Recall Drop Side Cribs to Prevent Fatal Accidents

Last week, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Dutailier Group issued a dangerous product recall on over 440 drop-side cribs because of entrapment and fall hazards to infants. The recall was announced on November 2, 2011 after it was discovered the slats of the crib are unstable and can become unhinged at the top and bottom rails causing a serious injury (suffocation and strangulation) risk to your child.

According to the CPSC, the model and part numbers included begin with E1230C2, E3500C2, E3540C2, E5100C2, E5140C2, E5530C2, E9000C2 and E9100C2.

Consumers are able to contact the Dutailier Group for a free repair kit and are advised not to use the crib under any circumstances until the problem with your crib is fixed.

For more information concerning the product recall, consumers can contact the Dutailier Group toll-free at (800) 363-9817 on Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. CST, and on Fridays from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
