Crossover Collision in Atchison, Kansas Kills 2, Injures 4

A fatal car crash in Atchison County, Kansas claimed the life of two adults and sent four children to local hospitals with serious injuries.  The accident happened on Highway 59 on October 16, 2010 when a Jeep driven by Denver Barr lost control and went across the highway center line.  After crossing over, Barr over-corrected and collided with another vehicle driven by 72 year-old Elizabeth Bertels. 

There were four children in the car with Bertels.  All survived the accident and were hospitalized with serious injuries.  Bertels was also taken to a hospital but would eventually pass away from her injuries.
