A cross country bicycle ride to raise money for breast cancer research turned tragic when one of the men, 19 year old John Anczarski was hit and killed by an SUV outside of Albuquerque, New Mexico. The man was riding with three other riders along the Laguna Pueblo in New Mexico when he was hit by a red SUV, reported to be traveling at 55 m.p.h. Anczarski was transported to a local hospital and placed on life support but he passed away on Tuesday June 22, 2010.
Anczarski helped found the charity ride, The Pink Pedal, and organized a cross country ride that was to take him from Pennsylvana all the way to San Diego, CA. The group has since decided not to finish the ride after the death of Mr. Anczarski.
