Deadly crash kills one; injures another in Kansas City

A deadly accident this morning on Highway 71 killed one person and seriously injuring another. Police say the crash, which happened around 3 a.m. on northbound 71 Highway at Red Bridge Road in Kansas City, Mo., was caused when the driver of one vehicle lost control while traveling at a very high rate of speed. The car struck a median and ejected the driver . Another car didn't see the first crash and collided the first vehicle, ejecting another person . The northbound lanes of Highway 71 were shut down for a several hours finally re-opening shortly after 7 a.m. The survivor of the accident is at a local hospital with what police described as life threatening injuries.
