Driver Fatigue May Have Caused Crash Killing Six and Injuring Three

Six people were killed and three others injured in a 3 car crash along I-80 near Colfax, Iowa.  A minivan traveling westbound struck a semi, causing the van to cross over into the eastbound lanes of traffic.  The minivan then hit another vehicle, head on.  Police officials have reported the driver of the minivan, Do Taw, 19 of Utica, NY may have fallen asleep at the wheel causing the accident.  Four passengers riding in the minivan were killed, including a 6-year-old child. 

The 41-year-old driver of the eastbound vehicle and his 16-year-old passenger were also killed in the accident.  The driver of the minivan and two other passengers in the van were transported to an area hospital for treatment.  One passenger, a 14-year-old victim, was reported to be in critical condition.
