Fatal Motorcycle Crash Caused by Failure to Yield the Right of Way

One person was killed and two others suffered serious injuries in a motorcycle accident that happened when a 63 year-old motorist attempted to make a left turn and turned into the path of two motorcycles. The fatal motorcycle injury accident happened in Fairfax, Virginia.

Police investigating the scene of the fatal crash say two 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycles were heading east when the vehicle driven by the elderly driver pulled out into their path. The motorcyclists hit their brakes but the crash was unavoidable.

The two motorcyclists and a female passenger were rushed immediately to a nearby hospital for treatment on serious injuries. The fatality victim, identified as 45 year-old William Tyler Cowherd died from injuries suffered in the collision.

The other two victims are expected to survive.
