Fatal Train-SUV Collision Raises Concern about Private Railroad Crossing Safety

In Kelso, Washington, three people were killed and another suffered serious, life threatening injuries when the SUV they were riding was struck by a BNSF train at a private railroad crossing on Talley Way near Interstate 5.  The fatal train accident happened on March 23, 2011 as the four passengers of the SUV, all railroad workers themselves, were on their way to Vancouver, Canada.

Officials from the Burlington Northern-Santa Fe Railroad were investigating the crash.
