FDA Recalls Skippy Peanut Butter in 16 States Including Missouri

On March 4, 2011, the FDA issued a limited recall on Skippy Reduced Fat Creamy Peanut Butter and Reduced Fat Super Chunk Peanut Butter in 16.3 oz. jars because of a salmonella contamintation that was discovered during an inspection.  The dangerous product recall is limited to following states: Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Iowa, Maine, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin.

If you are worried you might have one of these jars of contaminated peanut butter, check the UPC code located on the side of the jar.  If you find one of these codes: 048001006812 and 048001006782 throw the jar away immediately.

If you have questions about these recalled products, trash the product and call the company's 24 hour hot line directly for a replacement coupon at 1-800-453-3432.
