Female Worker Killed when Crushed by Crate at Texas Freight Company

A female employee at Con-Way Freight in Bexar County, Texas was killed in an industrial accident that happened on July 14, 2011. According to official reports, the fatal work accident happened when a crate, weighing 1,500 lbs. fell on top of the worker.

The employee, who has been identified as 49 year-old Marissa Garcia, was killed after a forklift operator had just moved the crate from a tractor-trailer onto the loading dock floor. The crate began to sway and wobble before it fell. Co-workers were unable to warn the female employee intime and she was crushed and pinned under the crate.

Garcia suffered a massive head trauma and was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was proclaimed dead.
