Fiery Trucking Accident Kills Truck Driver, Hospitalizes 46 Passengers on Tour Bus

One person was killed and forty-six people were hospitalized after a fiery crash involving a tour bus and a tractor-trailer truck. The fatal trucking accident happened on July 22, 2011 on I-90 in Waterloo, New York.

The tour bus carrying fifty passengers from Ontario, Canada and was heading to New York City when it pulled over on the side of the highway. When the bus attempted to re-enter the highway, it was hit from behind by a tractor-trailer, causing a fire that caused both vehicles to burst into flames.

The truck driver, identified as Timothy Hume of Dreyden, Michigan, was pronounced dead at the scene of the fatal trucking collision. Forty-six passengers from the tour bus were taken to local hospitals for treatment for a variety of injuries.
