Flying Metal Debris Causes Fatal Accident in Lawrence, KS.

A 48 year-old woman was killed in a tragic accident in Lawrence, Kansas when she was hit by a piece of metal had fallen off an another vehicle on South Lawrence Trafficway just north of Clinton Parkway. The Douglas County Sheriff's Department confirmed the death which happened on Tuesday June 7, 2010.  The victim in the accident has been identified as Cindy Burnett, Lyndon, Kansas.

Investigating officers say the metal fell off an eastbound pickup truck that was hauling a trailer and hit the windshield of a vehicle, injuring the female passenger who died later. The owner of the truck has since been found and claims he had no idea the accident had happened and that he had stopped a couple of times alreay to make sure nothing had shifted in the back of the truck.
