Ford Motors is recalling over 33,000 mid-size vehicles from its 2010 line including SUVs in the United States in order to fix a malfunctioning recliner in the seats. Representatives from Ford said the gears in the recliners could fail and cause the seat back and head restraint to move toward the rear of the vehicle which in case of a crash, could seriously increase risk of injury. The vehicles don't comply with federal requirements for head restraints. The models being recalled by Ford include versions of the 2010 Ford Fusion, the Explorer, the Explorer Sport Trac and the 2010 Mercury Milan and as well as models of the Mountaineer that include the front seat manual recliners.
The attorneys at the Kansas City Accident Injury Attorneys encourage you to research your vehicle before buying, paying close attention to safety ratings among the different car companies.
