Saturday night Johnson Country sheriff deputies chased a woman through rural Johnson County and eventually called in Douglas County sheriff deputies to help apprehend the suspect. The chase started when Johnson County deputies pulled the woman over around 10:18 p;m. Saturday night at 103rd Street and Sunflower Road near Clearview City.
When the deputy approached the vehicle, the woman tried to run over the deputy with her car and then took off trying to elude authorities. The driver headed toward K-10 Highway and eventually made it onto westbound K-10 where she reportedly was traveling at speeds exceeding 100 mph.
Douglas County sheriff deputies, along with the Eudora police assisted in stopping the woman by placing stop sticks in her path. The stop sticks flattened one of her tires, but the woman continued driving on K-10 for approximately two more miles before stopping near 1900 Road. The 38-year-old woman was arrested on several charges that included possession of methamphetamine.
