Kansan Man Killed in Trucking Accident During High Speed Chase

A man was killed in a tragic head on collision after leading police on in a high speed pursuit across the state of Kansas on Wednesday March 9, 2011.  The chase began on westbound I-70 in Salina County when Kansas Highway Patrol attempted to pull over a man driving a pick-up truck for a traffic violation.  Instead of pulling over the man fled and the police chased.

After thirty miles, the pick-up crossed over into the east bound lanes and continued to flee police for another 20 miles before he collided head on with a semi-truck.  The chase lasted nearly 40 minutes and covered at least 50 miles of Kansas highway.

The driver of the pick up was killed in the crash but the driver of the semi-truck was uninjured.
