Kansas City auto accident deaths see spike in single vehicle crashes in 2010

According to the Kansas City Police Department, the KC metro area saw an increase in single vehicle fatality accidents.  The total from 2010 ended at 68, up 3 from 65 in 2009.

“That’s three more people than died in crashes in 2009, despite intensive efforts by police to stop this trend (DUI and driver's license checkpoints, targeting revoked drivers and much more) and despite the nation overall having the lowest number of traffic deaths since 1954,” KCPD Chief James Corwin reported in his blog.

The national fatality toll from single vehicle accidents was down overall from 2009.
