Kansas City Concerned With Topeka Crash That Killed One/Injured Three

One person was killed and three others injured in a crash along K-4 in Topeka on Tuesday.  The accident occurred at mile marker 336, near N.W. 27th Street at about 6:50 p.m.  A black Chevrolet was traveling south on K-4 when it veered into oncoming traffic.  The driver, in attempting to get the vehicle back in the proper lane, over-corrected and hit a white Ford pickup truck that was traveling northbound on K-4. 

The Chevrolet reportedly came to a final stop along the guardrail on the west side of K-4.  Three people in the Chevrolet were taken by ambulance to area hospitals for treatment of serious injuries.  A fourth person, however, died in the vehicle before they could be extracted from the wreckage.  THe name of that person has not been released.

The driver of the Ford pickup was uninjured in the crash.  The Kansas Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
