Kansas City Construction Crews on Alert after Two Workers Injured in Crane Accident

In Chicago, ILL., two construction workers seriously injured in an accident when a lift-crane fell over and hit one of the men. The construction accident happened on May 10, 2011 around 10:00 a.m. at the 9900 block South Genoa Avenue in the Washington Heights neighborhood of Chicago.

Reports from the work injury site claim that a lift-crane on a bridge toppled and hit a 59-year-old worker. Another worker, who was on the crane when it collapsed was injured as well. Both men were taken to local hospitals. Neither injury appears to be life threatening.

An investigation as to what caused the crane to collapse in the construction accident is underway. OSHA is likely to investigate the accident as well.
