Kansas City DUI checkpoint produces 35 arrests this weekend

A weekend checkpoint at 77th and Wornall Road in Kansas City netted 35 arrests for Kansas City police for a variety of different traffic violations including twenty for driving while intoxicated. Kansas City police ran the DUI stop from 11 p.m. on Saturday night until 4 a.m. on Sunday, stopping over 620 vehicles in the process. Besides the 20 DUI arrests, other charges included driving while revoked or suspended liscenses, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, minor in possession of alcohol and a few others for unrelated warrants.
