Kansas City Man Loses Hand in Fire Works Accident

A Kansas City man suffered a severe injury early on Sunday July 3, 2011, the apparent victim of a homemade fire works accident.  According to Kansas City Police, the victim and a friend had returned from a visit to local bars and were inside someone's apartment when the apartment's resident lit an explosive and tossed it into a hallway. The victima tried to pick up the explosive and tried to throw it out a window, but it went off.

Reports indicate the man lost his right hand in the explosion but his injuries are not expected to be life threatening.
