Kansas City to Follow National Brain Injury Week Awareness Twitter-Thon

In 2011, Brain Injury Awareness Week runs from May 9th-13th. This year, for the first time ever, The Children's Trust, will offer followers of their social network an in depth look into the lives of doctors and patients in the field of brain injury.  A Twitter-Thon will be held on Friday 13th May and the charity will be tweeting for twelve straight hours to give twitter followers an insight into what goes on behind the scenes at its national children's brain injury rehabilitation centre in Surrey.

The Children's Trust will posting live updates and Tweets from several leading doctors, nurses, therapists, teachers as they work with children in their recovery, helping them to attempt to regain lost skills as well as restore confidence.

the Twitter-Thon will also introduce and follow a couple of the children and young people themselves as they go about their daily lives including preparing for therapy sessions, classes and outings.

If you follow the Children's Trust, you will have the chance to ask questions as well as find out how you can get involved and help to raise awareness during this important week for Brain Injury Awareness.

To take part, you will need to follow The Children's Trust on Twitter @childrens_trust and take as well as the Children's Trust Facebook page. The Trust will be using the #braininjuryweek hashtag throughout the day so followers can join in and show their support.
