Kansas City Toddler Found Dead in Pool Accident

A two-year old boy was found at the bottom of a neighbor's pool Tuesday evening near 66th Street and Wyoming Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri.  The child was found by a sibling and was the apparent victim in a drowning accident. 

Emergency crews were called in and fire officials performed CPR on the boy, but he showed no signs of life.  He was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. 

Police continued their investigation for two hours following the accident.  Unfortunately, this is the second accidental drowning involving a child in the Kansas City Metro area in less than three weeks.  On May 21, 2011 police were called to 158th and Lindenwood Drive to help locate a missing Olathe 6-year old.  That child was later found in a partially drained pool in the area.   Again, first responders attempted CPR and the child was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
