Kansas Highway Patrol Officer Shot in Training Accident

A member of the Kansas Highway Patrol was shot and injured during a training exercise in Salina, Kansas last week. Reports indicate the officer was hospitalized with a gun shot wound injury but it is not considered to be life threatening. The accident happened at the KHP firing range in Salina. It is not know if the injury was a self inflicted injury or if the officer was accidentally shot by another police officer.

An investigation into the work related accident will take place to determine what happened in the accidental shooting.
