Kansas State Trooper Involved in Accident with Semi

Interstate-35 was the scene of an accident caused by Monday's winter storm that involved and injured a Kansas State trooper.  The trooper was attending to another accident around 2:45 p.m. Monday afternoon when the semi, carrying minivans, slid into a minivan involved in the first accident.  According to a fire captain working the crash two people, including the State trooper, were taken to area hospitals for treatment of injuries.  The trooper sustained minor injuries, while the other person was hospitalized with serious injuries.

The accident closed the exit to Lone Elm Road and limited traffic to one lane on I-35 northbound during rush hour traffic as crews worked to clear the scene.
