Three weeks after an article in Reader's Digest ranked Kansas as the state with the best highways, the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) has put together a YouTube video aimed at fighting budget cuts for road maintenance. The budget cuts of $257 million in the last year will have a significant impact to the state's infrastructure. KDOT is hoping to rally support for their cause by encouraging Kansans to pressure lawmakers to restore funding.
KDOT feels that if the state does not maintain proper funding for road maintenance, area roadways could be ranked as poor within 10 years. These cuts to funding also have an impact on the local economy, as road repairs create jobs.
Besides this YouTube video, KDOT has also used other social media such as web pages, Twitter and Facebook to get messages of importance out to Kansans.
The Kansas City based auto accident attorneys encourage you to watch the video.
