Lee's Summit man ejected, crushed and killed in Rollover Crash

A 42 year-old man is dead today after being involved in a deadly rollover crash in Independence, Missouri.  The accident happened around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday September 12th on 39th street near Missouri Highway 291.  According to police, the driver of a Jeep Grand Cherokee, identified as Gilbert Beatty of Lee's Summit, lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a concrete median.

The man was ejected from the vehicle as it rolled and was crushed under the weight of the Jeep.  Police are investigating the cause of the crash.  No other details were immediately available.
