Man Dies after Falling off Roller Coaster at Houston Rodeo Carnival

Tragedy struck at a traveling carnival in Houston, Texas on March 21, 2011 when a 28 year-old man was killed after falling from a roller coaster ride at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo carnival. According to news reports the man fell 28 ft. from the coaster car and landed on another man walking near the ride. The fall victim was pronounced dead at the hospital.

There is no indiaction as to how the man fell out of the roller coaster. Initial inspections showed no problems with the ride itself. A full investigation will determine the cause. It is the first such accident in the 38 year old history of the carnival.

The injured man on the ground was also taken to a hospital where he was treated for a broken ankle.
