A man wearing a superman cape stole a White Volvo tractor-trailer around 5:00 a.m. Monday morning in Kansas City, Missouri. The truck was taken from 7092 Universal Avenue. Police started pursuit of the vehicle near 7th Street and Deramus Avenue and reported that the driver was not speeding, but driving erratically. The driver then headed into a residential neighborhood around NE 34th Terrace and North Poplar Avenue. He continued on and ran several cars off the road as he attempted to navigate the truck through an apartment complex parking lot at NE 37th Street and North Brighton Avenue.
Eventually, the truck headed the wrong way on an exit ramp on 210 Highway and began traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of 210 Highway near Searcy Creek Parkway. The driver left the roadway, getting the truck stuck in the mud along the median.
The driver exited the truck and ran for a wooded area where he hid for more than 40 minutes. Police deployed the K-9 unit who eventually found the caped man. The man was arrested, taken to a hospital and the truck was returned to its owner.
