The University of Missouri (MU) football team is facing another Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) arrest this week following an incident with junior linebacker Will Ebner. Ebner was stopped by a Boone County sheriff's deputy around 1:00 a.m. on Sunday. The deputy reported the SUV being driven by Ebner was swerving on Columbia, Missouri street. The deputy also reported that once stopped, Ebner had bloodshot eyes, incoherent speech and failed a breath-alcohol test. The linebacker was released from custody after posting a $500 bond. His court date has been set for September 16th.
This arrest comes on the heels of another charge involving the MU football team. On August 2nd, campus police charged Bruce Walker, the offensive line coach, on suspicion of DWI. Walker was leaving the team facility when he was pulled over. Walker's court date is September 13th.
According to a team spokesman for the Tiger football team, Ebner's status as a player will be handled internally.
