Multi-Vehicle Accident Closes 71 Highway in Belton, Missouri

Southbound 71 Highway was the scene of a multiple vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon involving two tractor trailers and as many as five cars. According to police, the chain reaction accident was started with two cars in the initial crash, a tractor trailer then hit another car, pushing it into a second semi. Injuries were reported.
Southbound 71 Highway was closed for approximately 2 hours to clean up the wreckage, but opened shortly before 5:00 p.m.
