Ohio Auto Plant Explosion Injures 9; Are Kansas City Plants Safe?

An explosion at an automotive plant in Ohio sent nine workers to the hospital in an accident that happened on September 7th, 2010.  The accident happened at the Faurecia Interior Systems Inc. automotive plant when a hydraulic line blew in the assembly area.

One of the employees, Natalie Humphrey, who was a witness to the explosion, said of the accident, “I was standing right next to [the pre-assembly line] when I heard a loud explosion that sounded like a cannon…and then I saw two people lying on the ground and black smoke everywhere.”

All nine workers were rushed to the hospital where seven of them were treated and released.  The other two suffered more serious injury but nothing that is considered life threatening.
