One Killed, Two Injured in Kansas City Motorcycle-SUV Collision

A collision between a motorcycle and a sports utility vehicle claimed the life of a Kansas City motorcyclist on Sunday. The fatal SUV-motorcycle collision happened near Blue Parkway and Sni-A-Bar Road in Kansas City, Missouri on Sunday July 10, 2011, according to Kansas City Police.

According to police reports from the scene of the fatal crash, the motorcyclist turned onto Sni-A-Bar Road and accelerated, causing the collision with the SUV.

"He's probably going too fast into that curve -- to negotiate that curve. That's why he's coming straight across. It looks like he's coming straight across; not making that curve at all," police Sgt. Jim Fuller said.

The driver and a passenger in the sports utility vehicle were injured as well-- while the motorcyle died in the crash.
