One Worker Dead, Another Injured in Industrial Accident Involving Fork Lift

One worker was killed and another suffered a serious injury in industrial accident at the Fairfield Manufacturing Plant in Lafayette, Indiana. The fatal work related accident, which happened on May 19, 2011, occurred when the employees of the plant became pinned between a forklift and a semi trailer.

According to officials from the Lafayette Police Department, the worker injury happened on a rear loading dock. There is no indication as to what caused the men to become pinned by the forklift and semi-truck trailer.
One of victims, who has been identified as 22 year-old Gregory Peterson II suffered a severe arm injury and was transported to the hospital for treatment. The other work injury victim, has yet to be identified and was pronounced dead at the scene.

As per usual with cases of work related injuries and fatalities, the Occupational Safety & Health Administration will be investigating the industrial accident.
