Overdosing a Child on over the counter meds easier than you think

The Food and Drug Administration is working with the Consumer Healthcare Products Association to help parents make sense of confusing instructions that often come along with may over-the-counter medications.  Because many of these products differ in dosages being labeled in tablespoons and milliters, the FDA has issued draft guidelines for proper medicated dosages to make it easier to give the proper dosages for your child, depending on age and weight.

The CHPA is working to come up with a universal measuring method to make sure any serious injury accidents due to child overdose become less and less frequent, although it may be a while before these are implemented all over the country.
