Overland Park Police Release Top 10 Car Crash Sites for 2011

The Overland Park Police Department has released the Top Crash Sites for 2011 and the junction of Metcalf and I-435 top the list.  The crash statistics, as listed below, are tallied from January 1 through February 28, 2011.  According to Park Police Chief John Douglass, there have been 744 automobile and/or motor vehicle accidents already just in the Overland Park area, many resulting in injuries for both drivers and passengers.

Top Overland Park Crash Sites for 2011 (number of accidents in parenthesis):

1. I-435/Metcalf Avenue (24 accidents)
2. I-435/Antioch Road (13)
3. College Boulevard/Quivira Road (11)
4. I-435/Quivira Road (11)
5. 135th Street/U.S. 69 (10)
6. 75th Street/Metcalf Avenue (10)
7. College Boulevard/U.S. 69 (10)
8. Interstate 435/U.S. 69 (10)
9. Interstate 435/Nall Avenue (9)
10. Interstate 435/Roe Avenue (9)
